Kochi-Muziris Biennale: International Contemporary Art Exhibition Puts India in the Global Map

Its common to see large contemporary art exhibitions held in places like Venice, Istanbul and Berlin. However, even India now has a reason to smile because of the resounding cultural success of its international contemporary art festival – the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (the word ‘Biennale’ means its held every two years), which was held in Fort Kochi, in Kerala, located in south India.

The best part about the event is that prominent figures from the world of art, architecture & art students, film personalities, and even the public turned up in large numbers at the Kochi Muziris Biennale. Kerala is already a popular tourist destination in India and with this even, Kerala will now be seen as another important cultural and art destination in the world.

I guest, the biggest beneficiaries of such events would be art students, as this event opens up another dimension for them; they can observe the works of some great artists and learn how art is evolving in this changing world.
