Bollywood Films Shot in Ireland (Emerald Isle)

Bollywood in Ireland, Dublin Salman Khan’s “Ek tha Tiger” (viewed by estimated 100 million cinema-goers) was shot in the Trinity College in Dublin (Ireland), and as is seen with most overseas locations, a hit Bollywood movie shot there does positively impact the flow of tourists to that place.

“Ireland tourism” has definitely taken a note of that, and are trying their best to attract more Indian filmmakers to their country.

Indian Films Shot in Ireland

Until just a few years back, Bollywood films that were shot in Ireland included only ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. But i’m sure its definitely going to change in the future.

Himesh Reshammiya’s latest movie ‘Terra Surroor’ was filmed in Ireland, mostly in and around Dublin city, and that is one of the reasons that the visuals of the film look so grand and stylish.



Recently, some of the big names from the Indian film industry visited the county as guests of the Indian office of Tourism Ireland, along with the Irish Film Board.

Well-known Bollywood producers, directors and location scouts explored various locations in Kerry including Kenmare, Slea Head and the Dingle Peninsula, and stayed at the five-star Park Hotel in Kenmare.

Those in the Tourism business understand that Bollywood is deep-rooted in the psyche of most Indians and in Indian communities across the world. Besides, India’s growing middle-class has the potential to travel abroad for holidays.

This is what Tourism Ireland wants to capitalize on, and they believe that the the popularity of Bollywood films can deliver strong benefits for Irish tourism.
