Apple to Have this Bollywood Superstar as Brand Ambassador for India

Tim cook may not have the charisma of Steve Jobs but he surely is a man to reckon with. And the same goes for Bollywood, which has been growing in size over the years. With more and more videos getting shot on iPhone, and with Mac computers and Apple’s editing software Final Cut Pro (FCP) at the heart of most studios in India, it was only natural for the two to meet.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook was in Mumbai where he was hosted by non other than Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan at his home, Mannat, in the presence of Bollywood superstars and other celebrities.

There are rumors that Apple is all set to make Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan its brand ambassador for India. The announcement is most likely to be made when Apple announces its latest iPhone models in India later this year.

Tim Cook started the day by visiting the Siddhivinayak Temple where he interacted with Anant Ambani, son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

Later, in the evening, Mukesh Bhatt (president of Film and TV Producers Guild of India) took Mr. Cook on a tour of the sets at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai.

Says Mr Bhatt, “People from the Apple group got in touch with me, saying that Tim would not want to skip Bollywood on his first visit to India. I showed him around the sets. He seemed keen to see how Apple could partner with the industry – after all, movies don’t have to be made by just big film producers these days, it can be shot on an iPhone.”

From there, Tim cook headed to Mannat (SRK’s home in Bandra) where several celebrities were waiting for him for the dinner party.


Besides SRK and his family, Amitabh Bachchan, AR Rahman, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Adi and Parmeshwar Godrej, Akash Ambani, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Farah Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Sania Mirza, Vidhu Vinod Chopra attended the event. Celebrity chef Vicky Ratnani took care of the food arrangements.

Everybody found the Apple CEO to be a great listener, a down-to-earth yet passionate person.

Tim Cook will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Although most Bollywood celebs were aware of Mr Cook’s detailed itinerary in India, they did not reveal it under a non-disclosure agreement.
