Top Bollywood Star Kids who flopped at the box office despite having big surnames & famous parents.
Luck can be cruel at times; that’s what these star kids have realized. Otherwise what would explain their failure despite being sons & daughters of famous Bollywood celebrities.
You might argue that they were not talented enough. Perhaps!
But they have taken acting lessons for years from reputed acting schools and one would imagine that acting runs in their blood.
Maybe they should have just hung in there.
While the Hrithiks, Ranbirs and Kajols, may have made their parents proud, other like like Uday Chopra, Tanisha and the likes have failed.
Some of them are still trying with the hope of succeeding some day, whereas some have taken up production.
Here’s a look at ten star kids who could not make their mark in Bollywood, despite their star surnames and famous parents!
Uday Chopra
Son of legendary film maker Yash Chopra and brother of filmmaker Aditya Chopra, he could not make it solo. Was last seen in Dhoom 3 and probably will do similar roles in the future ‘Dhoom’ movies.
Jackky Bhagnani
He’s son of Bollywood’s biggest producers ‘Vashu Bhagnani’, and still struggling to gain a foothold in the industry (was seen in F.A.L.T.U). Though it seems he’s not giving up so soon, and even his dad is supporting him!
Tanisha
She had disappeared into oblivion until Big Boss happened to her, where she was the runners-up. She hails from a super successful family of achievers including grandmother Shobhna Samarth, mother Tanuja, aunt Nutan and sister Kajol. One definitely feels sorry for her as Tanisha could not match up to any of her relatives. Perhaps its a bit too early to write her off, post her Big Boss fame.
Soha Ali Khan
She’s the daughter of actress Sharmila Tagore & legendary cricketer Mansoor Pataudi, and sister of the young Nawab of Pataudi – Saif Ali Khan (oh…and Kareena Kapoor is her sister-in-law now). Though it might be difficult for her to get that typical ‘heroine’ role (‘Joe B Carvalho’ tanked), she does get roles in multi-starrers such as ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Saheb and Biwi Aur Gangster Return’. She’s not giving up without a fight though!
Luv Sinha
Son of Shatrughan Sinha and brother of Sonakshi Sinha, his debut film was a big flop. However, with Sonakshi’s career taking off, he may just try to hang around or probably take up production. If nothing works, perhaps he can join politics with Dad.
Harman Baweja
Good looks, dances well (has similarities to Hrithik Roshan) but the son of Harry and Pammi Baweja couldn’t connect with the masses. His ex Priyanka Chopra too seems to have dumped him like a hot potato! Perhaps he may not get another chance to shine as a solo hero, but you could see him in a multi-starrer.
Sikander Kher
His parents – Kirron Kher and Anupam Kher (step father) are both successful theatre and film actors, but Sikander is still trying to make a mark. Hope he keeps on trying.
Adhyayan Suman
Father Shekhar Suman still looks quite young, and is famous & successful, whereas Adhyayan is struggling. Dad is now producing a movie for the junior, whether it changes his fortune or not, will need to be seen.
Zayed Khan
Son of Sanjay Khan (brother of Feroze Khan), Zayed did get his chances but seems to have lost focus; he also could not impress with his acting skills. Zayed Khan was known more for his alleged affairs, than his films.
Fardeen Khan
Son of the flamboyant Feroz Khan, Fardeen had a few decent films (including No Entry), but he could not capitalize on his early successes. Fardeen was in the news for his drug addiction and being busted by the cops! Perhaps we may see him again in the sequel to ‘No Entry’.
There have been other star kids who tried and could not succeed in Bollywood, or are still struggling.
For instance, Bobby Deol has survived for almost 20 years despite everybody writing him off, Chunky Pandey has survived for so long (he was smart to adapt and take up comedy roles). Others like Tusshar Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, & Prateek Babber are still trying to gain a foothold in the industry, despite getting a good start.
